Royal Air Force Typhoon FGR4s have operated alongside France's air force in a combined operation on an hidden munitions depot in Syria used by the IS group, according to the British defence ministry.
The location, pinpointed through reconnaissance, was believed to be housing weapons and explosive materials, the announcement noted, and was located in mountainous terrain just north of Palmyra in the heart of Syria.
"Our fighter planes employed precision-guided Paveway IV munitions to strike a number of access tunnels providing entry to the site... early reports indicate the target was engaged successfully," the ministry announced.
There was no sign of any harm to civilians in the attack on Saturday evening and every plane involved made a safe return, the MoD added.
The Typhoon FGR4s were supported by a Voyager tanker plane.
Daesh - alternatively referred to as ISIS - imposed extremist governance over significant areas in Iraq and Syria until 2019.
"This operation underscores the UK's leading role, and determination to stand shoulder to shoulder with allied nations, to eradicate any revival of Daesh and their harmful and extremist ideologies in the region," Britain's Defence Chief the minister stated.
UK warplanes have performed overwatch operations over Syrian airspace to "deter any attempted comeback" of Islamic State subsequent to its routing at the climactic battle in Baghuz in 2019, the MoD reported.
"I must thank the personnel of our armed forces who took part in this mission for their expertise and their bravery," he said. "They were among thousands of UK service members stationed over the holidays. This operation, to take out militants who threaten our way of life, shows how UK forces are always on standby, all year round, ensuring Britain's security at home and strong abroad."
During December, the US military conducted what it called a "major assault" on IS targets in Syria, subsequent to an assault killed two American soldiers and a civilian interpreter in the Palmyra area.
The United Nations says IS still has between 5,000 and 7,000 fighters in Iraq and Syria.
